The name Barona Yearlings, comes from the combination of our first names, Barry & Mona which gave us Barona. Our farm is located just outside of Spruce Grove, Alberta and approximately 15 minutes west of Edmonton. We breed Standardbreds for the purpose of Harness Racing. When you see a horse named Barona you will know that we raised it. We also board a few mares for friends and raise the foals for them until they are ready to go as weanlings or yearlings. We really enjoy following the yearlings as they become race horses and hear the announcer say their name and watch them enter the Winners Circle. We try to watch all of their races where ever they are racing and get just as nervous as their owners do before the race. It has been very exciting and rewarding. We love being a part of it all!
